Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Director of the Professional Services Division, the Teacher Preparation Administrator I (Program Evaluation and Research) is responsible for oversight of the administrative functions and obligations of the of the Professional Services Division, shared oversight of the full implementation of the accreditation system in collaboration with the Administrator of Accreditation, supervision of managerial-level staff, supervision of Consultants in Teacher Preparation and other staff as needed, and coordination of the development, administration, evaluation, approval, and accreditation of postsecondary institutions and credential preparation programs.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

  • Experience in policy research related to educator development
  • Understanding of and experience with the accreditation system as adopted by the Commission  
  • Experience coordinating and preparing agenda items for presentation before boards, commissions, or similar bodies
  • Experience working with, developing, and/or implementing program standards
