Job Description

Salary: $127,310 - 243,340 per year Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline with a core quantitative curriculum.
  • Alternatively, 4 additional years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in model validation, model development, statistical analysis, or advanced quantitative research.
  • Or an advanced degree (e.g., Masters, PhD) in a quantitative field and 4 years of related experience.
  • Proficient in conveying quantitative and technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences, senior leadership, auditors, or regulators.
  • Strong programming abilities in R, Python, SAS, Java, C, SQL, or other similar programming languages.
  • Experience with at least three statistical, econometric, data science, or predictive modeling techniques, including, but not limited to, Unsupervised Learning, Linear Regression, Time-Series Forecasting, and Deep Learning Concepts.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the operational and support functions within Banking or Insurance sectors.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct independent model validation control activities for high-risk internal and vendor models.
  • Develop and implement validation testing plans using expert technical methodologies.
  • Replicate model development and potentially create challenger models employing various modeling techniques including predictive modeling and machine learning.
  • Design and implement model testing and data quality assessments utilizing diverse datasets.
  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of model development, implementation, monitoring, and usage in Banking and Insurance contexts.
  • Evaluate model inherent risks, address model declassifications, and validate changes across various models.
  • Supervise and provide guidance on the model validation tasks executed by colleagues.
  • Generate and present validation reports and related documentation to model validation management and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure that the model validation processes align with established risk and compliance policies.
  • Assess the strengths of model risk controls throughout the modeling process.
  • Stay updated on emerging modeling techniques and practices.
