**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** 12 Hour Night Shift **Description:** At Saint Francis Hospital the level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) consists of 28 beds. Preterm and term neonates in need of additional medical and surgical management and highly specialized care are admitted to the unit. **What you will do** : + Attend births and provide care for infants with medical complications directly after birth + Monitor the health of infants suffering from medical issues, such as prematurity or congenial defects + Educate new parents on the care of their infant, including basic infant care, breastfeeding, and safety + Contributes to overall quality of nursing care through performance improvement techniques that impact patient care positively + Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with admin, colleagues, patients and family members + Demonstrates problem solving, conflict resolution, and positive communication through teamwork. **Minimum Qualifications** + **Education** : Graduate of an accredited college or university affiliated nursing program. BSN graduate preferred + **Licensure** : Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse RN in Connecticut + **Certification** : BLS CPR.
