Position: Nurse TechnicianDept: 7 East Med Surg - Mercy Hospital STL (Ballas Campus) Shifts: PT Nights - 1/12 hour shift per week with rotation on weekends and holidays. Overview:The Nurse Tech role is designed for current nursing students who have completed Fundamentals of Nursing. As a Nurse Tech, you will have the opportunity to work closely with Mercy nurses to gain real life experience on a hospital unit while still in nursing school! Job Duties:Obtain vital signs and document into the electronic medical * records systemAssist with patient care needs including, meals, bathing, toileting, ambulation, patient mobility, and transport.* Phlebotomy/blood cultures* Enteral Feeding* Wound care* IV/Foley removal* Trach care/suctioning* Culture collection* Ostomy application and care* Wound vacs* NG tube management and removal Qualifications:Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. and enrolled in a board-certified nursing program.Prior to employment, the Nurse Tech shall provide student transcripts indicating they have completed Fundamentals of Nursing from an accredited school of nursing and provide competency skills list from their learning institution.The Nurse Tech must remain in good standing with their school of nursing while in this role.
