Our client is looking for a solid sales team leader with high-energy and a strong new business development mindset to fill a home-based Regional Sales Manager position. The preferred location for this position is in the Eastern PA/Southern NY/ or NJ area. Overnight travel is expected to be ~25%.
Responsibilities: Lead and manage a team of 5 Account Managers who are selling a broad range of raw material chemicals & materials to the Composites/Fiberglass manufacturing markets in a region extending from OH to ME to VA. Products include Gel Coats, Resins, Epoxies, Adhesives, Initiators, Core Materials, Reinforcements, etc. End-use markets include Marine, Bath & Spa, Piping, Wind Energy, Transportation, Infrastructure, Construction, Etc. This is a leadership role which involves, training, coaching, motivating, removing obstacles for success, etc. There will be hiring responsibilities, performance management responsibilities, etc. Along with input from the Account Managers and senior management set the sales strategy for the region and execute the plan. Communicate effectively with all internal departments, suppliers, and senior leadership. Travel overnight as needed.
Requirements: 5+ years of experience selling raw material chemicals. Along with at least 3 years of sales team leadership experience . Experience working in chemical distribution is a plus. A bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred. High energy, motivating leader, with proven success. Willingness to travel overnight as needed.
