We are currently seeking a Industry Consulting Snr. Consultant to join our team in Pune, Mahārāshtra (IN-MH), India (IN).

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong expertise in Payments data and hands-on experience in data analysis and data mapping . The candidate will serve as a Payments Data Subject Matter Expert (SME) , supporting key data transformation, migration, and modernization initiatives within the bank’s payments ecosystem.

The role involves analyzing payment data flows across multiple systems (clearing, settlement, and core banking), performing detailed data mapping, and ensuring data accuracy and consistency for system integrations, reporting, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Payments Data SME for projects involving payment processing, modernization, or system migrations.
• Work with business and technology teams to gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and data requirements .
• Conduct data analysis and data profiling across source and target systems to understand data structures, relationships, and quality.
• Prepare detailed data mapping specifications between legacy and target systems (covering ISO 20022, SWIFT, SEPA, RTGS, etc.).
• Support data transformation , cleansing , and migration activities for payments-related data (transactions, beneficiaries, accounts, settlements).
• Collaborate with data architects, developers, and testers to validate data lineage and ensure correct end-to-end data flow.
• Assist in designing ETL logic and participate in data validation during SIT/UAT phases.
• Work closely with compliance and operations teams to ensure alignment with regulatory reporting and payment standards .
• Create and maintain BRDs , FSDs , data dictionaries , and traceability matrices .
• Support data quality improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to data governance policies.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst in Payments or Financial Services .
• Strong understanding of Payments domain concepts : SWIFT, ISO 20022, SEPA, RTGS, ACH, Wire Transfers, and Cross-Border Payments.
• Hands-on experience in data mapping , data migration , and data transformation projects.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, validation, and reconciliation.
• Strong analytical skills in understanding and documenting data flows across payment systems.
• Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, DataStage) or data integration platforms .
• Knowledge of data governance , metadata management , and data quality frameworks .
• Excellent documentation skills — writing BRDs, FSDs, and detailed data mapping documents.
• Exposure to Agile delivery methodologies.
