Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Custom Applicator to join our team in Tuscola, IL. As a key member of our agricultural operations, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient application of pesticides, fertilizers, and other crop inputs for our clients. You will play a crucial role in ensuring optimal crop protection and productivity while adhering to all safety and environmental guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate custom application equipment, including sprayers, spreaders, and other machinery, to apply crop protection products, fertilizers, and soil amendments.
Ensure proper calibration of equipment for accurate application rates and efficiency.
Monitor weather conditions, field conditions, and application schedules to optimize effectiveness and safety.
Maintain accurate records of all applications, including chemicals used, acreage treated, and any other relevant information.
Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and meet customer expectations.
Provide exceptional customer service by offering advice and assistance to growers on proper application practices.
Adhere to all safety standards and regulatory requirements, including wearing and maintaining proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in agriculture, machinery operation, or related fields is a plus.
Valid Commercial Applicator License (or willingness to obtain).
Class A or B CDL (or ability to obtain) preferred.
Previous experience as a Custom Applicator or in a related agricultural role is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of agricultural chemicals, fertilizers, and application techniques.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
