Electrical Designer Location: Birmingham, AL Employment Type: Full-time Experience Level:1-5 Years Benefits Include - Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 10 Paid holidays About the Role We're seeking a motivated Electrical Designer/Drafter with 1 to 5 years of experience to join our Design team. This role focuses on the early-stage design of electrical power systems for large-scale energy projects. You'll contribute to the development of design documents, provide technical direction, and support project execution from concept through startup. Key Responsibilities + Assist in preparing electrical system designs: single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, layouts, and circuitry. + Develop scope documents, budgets, schedules, and cost estimates. + Provide technical guidance to engineers, designers, and drafters. + Support system checkout and startup as needed. + Coordinate with vendors and build strong working relationships. + Lead or support project planning and execution with limited supervision. + Ensure designs meet engineering standards and project objectives. Required Qualifications + 1-5 years of relevant experience in electrical design + Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, especially in power plant systems. + Experience with AutoCAD; familiarity with CAD Overlay is a plus. + Ability to manage design tasks on large-scale projects with minimal supervision. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications + Experience with scheduling, cost control, and project coordination. + Familiarity with NEC and other industry standards. + Ability to lead portions of projects and mentor junior staff. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
