Job Description

Effectively manage the communication between transportation and all departments within CP Logistics and Charlie’s Produce. Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of all routes. Troubleshoot, as per DOT and Alaska regulations, coordinate the drivers through the finalization of their day, all dispatching, coordination and maintenance of DOT paperwork. Must have ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast paced environment and make quick decisions based on daily success of duties with the highest regard for customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Dispatching
• Route Building and analysis
• Route tracking and adjustments
• Audit Driver logs and review driver pre-check lists
• Communicating door assignments to shipping department door assignment for departing routes.
• Check email, looking for pickup requests, sales requests for delivery times, add on to orders, and rush orders.
• Direct and track pickup requests
• Check routes, send ETA’s for late routes, send routing emails to sales and customer service
• Equipment size management based on truck capabilities, safety and regulations
• Communicate with multiple departments throughout the day
• Other duties as assigned.
• Non-CDL driving as needed
  

Peripheral Duties:

• Spreadsheet Maintenance
• Driver training and support
• DOT Policy implementation
• Troubleshoot and problem solve when drivers call out or fleet issues arise
• Assist in checking in of drivers at the end of their route
• Assist in getting drivers on the road at the beginning of their shift

Qualifications

Qualifications

:

• Intermediate knowledge and understanding of DOT regulations.
• 1-2 years of experience in transportation supervision or lead role.
• Must be able to read write and speak English fluently
• Intermediate word and excel skills for correspondence and reporting duties/pivot tables
• Intermediate MS Outlook skills for regular communication with crew.
• Advanced verbal communication skills. Must be able to assist a diverse work force and communicate clearly with various levels of management.
• Occasionally lift 60 lbs.
