Digital Content Manager Marketing and Communications Full-Time Southeast Missouri State University's Marketing and Communications department is seeking an experienced and creative Digital Content Manager to join our team. This role will be pivotal in shaping and executing our digital content strategy to enhance engagement, drive traffic, and promote the University's brand across various video, photography, social media platforms, and digital advertising. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently. The Digital Content Manager will contribute to projects that positively affect the achievement of SEMO's strategic and enrollment goals.
Primary Responsibilities - Capture moments that communicate our unique story to our audience and lead content creation projects from concept to completion, including writing, editing, and multimedia production
- Lead and supervise digital content producers, providing feedback and support to enhance their skills and output
- Develop, shoot, and produce photography and video for the University, utilizing creative and artistic skill, and collaborating with the University Marketing and Communications team to ensure all content elevates the University brand
- Coordinate and perform pre-production activities such as scheduling, shot lists, crew assignments, talent acquisition, location scouting, set design, graphics preparation, and rehearsals
- Ensure all digital content is optimized for SEO and adheres to best practices for web accessibility and usability as well as following brand guidelines
- Analyze and report on content performance using analytics tools, providing insights and recommendations for improvement
- Maintain University photo and video archive for ease of access to photos by University community and to ensure adequate quality and quantity of assets for use
- Oversee inventory of equipment and implement a proactive maintenance and replacement schedule to ensure operational efficiency and longevity
- Enthusiastically collaborate with team members to create and implement a comprehensive digital content strategy that achieves University goals and elevates the SEMO brand
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree; Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in digital communications, multimedia, television/film, journalism is a plus
- Demonstrated experience in performing a variety of creative, artistic and skilled photographic and video storytelling
- Advanced technical knowledge of photographic and video techniques, equipment, editing processes and software, including Adobe Creative Suite, as well as valid UAS Pilot Certification or the ability to be licensed
- Demonstrated experience in applying marketing techniques and messaging to digital content that achieve goals
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining a photo/video archive
- Strong written, communications, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Superior time management and organizational skills
- Strong project management and ability to prioritize and the discipline to deliver projects
- Experience leading teams to achieve goals
- Ability to occasionally travel and work alternate schedules including evenings and weekends
