This open competitive advertisement is for an OPS (Other Personal Services) position located at Homestead Correctional Institution in the Chaplaincy Department.
Our mission in the chaplaincy department is to provide spiritual support and guidance to inmates and staff. We strive to create a compassionate and respectful environment where individuals can explore and practice their faith. Our goal is to offer counseling, religious services, and programs that promote personal growth, healing, and rehabilitation. I am dedicated to fostering a sense of hope and community within the correctional facility.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
Salary: $21.00 Hourly

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
The Level 2 background check includes fingerprinting for state and federal criminal records and may also include local criminal records checks.
According to Florida law (S. 110.1127(1)), this position requires a background investigation, including fingerprinting.
