Down South CaJJun Eats is seeking to hire an experienced Bar Manager with a passion for the hospitality industry. We are looking for someone who has an in-depth understanding of bar operations, including staff management, alcohol regulations, and inventory keeping. Our bar manager's main duties will be coordinating with the leadership team to provide efficient scheduling of bar staff and shift calendars, creating a clean, efficient, and welcoming atmosphere for our new and returning customers. and most notably they will lead the development of our cocktail menu for our grand opening in Fall 2023. The ideal candidate should be customer-focused and have a proven track record of delivering excellent customer service.

Bar Manager Responsibilities:

• Developing and implementing effective bar policies, procedures, and programs
• Managing all aspects of the bar, including drink menu development, inventory control, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation, and ensuring adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations
• Hiring, scheduling, training, and managing bar staff
• Oversee staff, including bartenders and barbacks, and, in some cases, bouncers, wait staff, and/or kitchen staff as well.
• Providing excellent customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction by greeting customers, providing menu recommendations and resolving complaints effectively
• Monitoring sales and costs, developing and executing initiatives to increase sales revenue and control costs
• Maintaining excellent relationships with suppliers, vendors, and the community at large
• Continuously evaluating and improving bar operations to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness

Skills and Experience:

• At least 3 years of experience managing a bar
• Strong knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, drink recipes, and mixology
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Proficient in POS software, Microsoft Office, and inventory management systems
• Knowledge of the legal requirements for serving alcohol and maintaining a safe environment
• Understanding of financials such as budgets, revenue, and profitability
• Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and prioritize work effectively

Down South CaJJun Eats was founded by twin brothers Jahmaal and Jermaine Dumes in the Spring of 2017. While Studying at Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX they decided to take a leap of faith. Originally from Beaumont, TX they felt a tremendous part of their lives were missing in Austin. And that was Crawfish!


Coming from a family of cooks, they’ve always dreamed of starting a restaurant in their home state. With the help and support of family and friends, they were able to make this dream come alive.
