Assistant Golf Coach
University in Atlanta, Georgia is looking for an Assistant Golf Coach.
Position Overview:
This role involves supporting the head coach in fostering a positive, competitive environment while ensuring the health and safety of athletes. The position supports the head coach in managing a successful varsity program that competes in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III and is a member of the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA). Responsibilities primarily include recruiting student-athletes, coaching during practices and competitions, designing and implementing competitive strategies, and advising and mentoring student-athletes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of athletes on and off the field.
• Foster a community of healthy competition and sportsmanship among athletes.
• Plan and implement effective and engaging practice sessions.
• Assist with team management and logistics.
• Maintain open communication with athletes, coaches, and staff.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have prior coaching experience, strong leadership skills, and a passion for student-athlete development.
Must be experienced in playing/coaching golf.
Ability to pass a driving and criminal background check.
Availability between 2:30pm–6:00pm (flexible), primarily Tuesdays and Thursdays, in addition to some Mondays and Wednesdays.
Availability during some weekends for travel. August through April and possibly needed beginning of June for Nationals (TBD).
Availability during pre-season in August–November and during in-season January–April.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of student-athletes and professional staff.
